An executive information system is a decision support system used to assist senior executives in the decision-making process. It does this by providing easy access to important data needed to achieve strategic goals in an organization. EIS normally graphical displays on an easy to use interface.
EIS are important because they help top level executives analyze, compare and highlights important areas and identify opportunities and problems.

Nowadays employees can use their personal computer and access the company’s data and decide which data is best to use. As EIS is not only for executive now but for the entire company, freedom with this allows everyone to access company data and share information with everyone in the company.
